  • Four Walnut Wall Sculptures Installation

Today my four walnut wall sculptures (24 x 24 x 1.5 inches) were installed in the lobby of Tribute at the Glen, 4151 Old Bridge Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22192  nursing home in Woodbridge, Virginia. Those waiting in the lobby will have a good view of the walnut carvings, which were started in the Falls of 2016 after I received an email from Kalish Art Lovers in North Carolina. They found my website after a search online for a sculptor in Virginia.

The raw wood came serendipitously to my studio via a tree service professional who happened to come by my house. He fell in love with my sculptures and sent me a picture of the walnut he had just cut. It was perfect for the job Kalish asked me to do. It was too heavy for me to lift. He sawed it in two slices, which I took to McFarland Saw Mill to slice into four pieces.  With my Australian made Arboteck power woodcarving tool and Festool sander I carved the undulating lines.

The following are images of these sculptures.
