MOBIUS-REDUX
Looking forward and backward, these dancing figures feature a towering Mobius loop and a resting double-twist. “A single-sided surface with no boundaries, the [Mobius] strip is an artist’s reverie and a mathematician’s feat” (Scientific American). It also embodies philosophical and historical iconoclasm. The double-twist represents knowledge of more established cycles across intellectual disciplines.

Mobius Redux is made of bent wood laminates steamed and clamped on a mold. The 8-foot-long Mobius strips were manipulated to form a figure 8 instead of the usual ellipse. This centralized the transformative twist. A separate solid base continues the flowing lines of the figures.
